Hello!!! And happy Wednesday!!! Today I am going to show you guys another transfer technique...this one I love to do and I hope you will enjoy it too!!! I got the idea from creating keepsakes years ago when they were doing the featured artist article...saw it, loved it, had to do it, and now, totally hooked on it!!!
what you'll need...
UTEE (ultra thick embossing enamel)
black ink
various stamps
a photo printed off on REGULAR printer paper
a piece of plain regular printer paper in the same size as your photo
glue stick
versa mark ink
heat gun
how you do it...
using your stamps, black ink and the plain piece of printer paper...create a background.
now glue your photo to your background keeping right sides on both pieces upwards.
using your versa mark ink pad....cover the entire surface of the photo.
pour UTEE over the inked surface and tap off excess.
using your heat gun, heat the UTEE so it melts.
you will start to see your stamped image show through...
repeat the last step at least 2 more times. I usually do at least three layers of UTEE, this allows for the pattern to show through nicely and for the surface of the photo to become smooth
after your third layer your photo will look like this...
during all the layers your photo will curl...every time you heat it it will flatten...there are a couple of ways to flatten your photo once you are ready to add it to your project...really good adhesive such as...glue dots, staples, the ATG gun. The other method will allow you to add a more aged look to your photo. Stick it in the freezer for a couple of minutes....it won't uncurl on it's own...when you take it out of the freezer, carefully unbend the photo, as you do this it will start to crack the enameled surface, creating a really cool look...if it cracks too much just reheat with your gun to fix. after you get the desired look you can rub a ink pad over the cracked surface to age the photo even more. alright...have fun playing!!! Don't forget to get us your BELIEVE projects linked up by Friday the 26th!!! ciao!
cool...will have to try this...
and that pic of jude and alden is such a good one...
