is it springtime yet????
it is chilly & windy & wet & brrrrrrrrr.....here...
& i've got a household of sick people :)
so needless to say, i'm wishing for Spring...BIG TIME :)
so....i thought i'd pass along a quick tutorial on how to make a ribbon flower...
nothing says Spring to me like flowers :)
so...here ya go...
you get your supplies:
needle & thread
ribbon
button or gem
felt or fabric circle
fold back the first little bit of ribbon & stitch it to the edge of your little felt circle
continue making little folds in your ribbon & stitching it down to the edge of that circle
(don't be too concerned about the looks of your stitches...just get 'er tacked down however you can...this will all be covered up by a pretty button in the end :)
now keep going with the folding & stitching & then continue on layering a second "circle" of ribbon folds
when you've got that second circle all completed do maybe 2 or 3 more folds & stitches into a 3rd circle & then we are going to call it a day :)
snip your ribbon & fold that last little bit under & stitch down...
now pick a cute button that is big enough to cover the middle, stitch that bad boy down & voila!
cute little guy, huh?
now bring on Spring :)
& be sure to bring on your CREATE pages & projects too!!!
what you guys have shared thus far has been AMAZING!!!!!
you've got until friday night to be in the running for the big prizes...
so....go forth, CREATE and post up!!!!
happy wednesday!!!

Gave this a try! I "over folded" and mine looks more like a bow than a flower (not nearly as cool as Gigi's... I'll have to try again) but I still like it! Thanks for the tutorial!

A beautiful, original idea. I can even use this button idea to embellish my fiber-art pieces. Thank you for sharing it.
